2021 Ford Transit

Ford Transit 2021: for business or pleasure

Imagine if you could customize your vehicle almost entirely to your needs, whether it was to serve as an efficient delivery tool or to transport your entire soccer club. You could even, at the time of purchase, transform it into a camping trailer or a companion for your wildest adventures. Depending on the options and versions you choose, that's precisely what the 2021 Ford Transit offers you.

The Ford Transit is the world's best-selling commercial van, with over 10 million units sold since its inception. Rethought last year, it offers a rigid, torsion-resistant chassis that can be transformed into a real work tool. In fact, once properly equipped, the Ford Transit is capable of towing up to 6800 pounds or carrying 4500 pounds of cargo.

Of course, not everyone needs this cargo capacity. However, it is possible to offer a carrier profile with room for 15 passengers or transform it into a more versatile vehicle, offering five seats for occupants and a large cargo area.

Even better, Ford Transit offers low or high roof options, depending on its owner's needs.

Reliable engines

The Ford Transit engine is well known and proven. The base model features a 3.5-litre V6 engine that develops 275 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. This reliable and economical engine is coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The same transmission is also responsible for transmitting the other engine's power, a 3.5-litre twin-turbo Ecoboost V6 that develops some 311 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Both are available in rear-wheel-drive mode, or now with intelligent all-wheel drive.

Safety first

Ford Transit, like all Ford vehicles, puts safety first. Therefore, it includes a long list of driving aids designed to ensure the comfort and peace of mind of the vehicle's occupants. Some of the most common features include optional Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Crash Assist with Automatic Emergency Brake, Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning. The CoPilot 360 is standard on XLT versions.

The Blind Spot Information System with Trailer Coverage and Cross Traffic Alert can also be added, as well as Reverse and Side Detection. An optional but efficient parking assistance system is also among the available options.

To ensure occupant comfort, Ford Transit offers a 4- or 8-inch screen housed in the dashboard, as well as Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility. It is also possible to take advantage of FordPass Connect features with 4G Wi-Fi access and connectivity for up to 10 devices. However, a subscription is required.

The modem also makes it easy to use Ford Telematics or Ford Data Services from Ford Commercial Solutions, so customers can monitor their fleet with GPS tracking, receive live alerts on vehicle health status for maintenance planning, and ensure the health of their fleet.

Whether it's for fun, adventure or work, Ford Transit offers all the solutions.
